Robert Dao was born on February 15, 1997, at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco — full of life, curiosity, and a warmth that drew everyone around him closer. As the beloved son of his father and the cherished brother of Jennifer, Robert brought joy to everyone he met.
He lived his 28 years with intention and love — pursuing his education, exploring the world alongside his father, and leaving behind a legacy of laughter, adventure, and unconditional love.
Robert passed away on June 28, 2025. Two days earlier, he had sat beside his father at his birthday celebration, laughing and loving as always. He was, and always will be, his father's heart and reason to keep going.
From his first classroom to his college graduation — every school shaped the man he became.
From his first day of kindergarten in Fall 2002 through the early grades — the friendships made, the lessons learned, and the boy he was becoming.
Four proud years in Sacramento — game days, faith, and the friendships forged at CB. Robert graduated May 2015.
From his first autumn in Moraga to graduation day in May 2019 — campus life, friendships, and the person Robert became in those four years.
From the time Robert was 7 years old, every summer was an adventure shared between a father and his son. These are the places they explored together — each city holding a memory, each trip a chapter of their story.
